Article – Making the Most out of your Mood (Sunrise)

November 29, 2007

Written by Micster.

About a month or so ago, I released a small article showing how scenery can have an impact on a track. Now I’m going to show you how each mood used in your track can significantly effect how your scenery appears. I’ll be using Island for all the demonstrations here, as it provides the most unique mix of scenery.

Today the focus is on Sunrise.

“Pretty speedy (…) some cool jumps and drops”

Carribean Gold

First Impression

Well… using an impressing Mod with “speedy parts”, “jumps and drops” has my attention! So my first impression is very good! Then suddenly the surprise hits me: the jumps and the drops and the tricks are countable on one hand (you may cut off one of your fingers). Can this track fulfill my first impression? Let’s see…

EMTC Delay

November 25, 2007

I’m sorry that posting is a bit slow… Today I was going to publish the results of the EMTC, but due to technical problems this doesn’t seem to be happening today either 😦

In addition to this I’m also in the middle of a test week at school, which is why my time to fix the problem or post something else is limited.

Please bear with me, I’ll be back on track by Wednesday 😉

TMU Blog – 1 Year Birthday!

November 22, 2007

Today is the day! The TMU Blog is turning 1 year.

In case you’re wondering why I never posted anything yesterday, it’s because I spent all my spare time working on an anniversary document for the blog – over 30 pages of the best articles from the past, text about the year that has gone by and graphical timelines and images, all packed in a nice little PDF document.

Due to the length of the document I suggest you print it and use it as bedtime reading or something 😉

Happy birthday TMU Blog 😀

“It offers u some tricky spots, but should always be fair“.

Looking Up

First Impression

Is it a speed track? Is it a tech-track? Is it a maze track? I don’t know… The author calls it tricky, does that conflict with the speed? Lets try! The tricky part in the beginning is clear: lots of parts where you can stumble. The maze part is clear too: lots of signs, help! Where to go? Then finally the speed part, that’s fun. But what if we get round the bumps and know where to go, then it all gets clear to me: a challenging track well suited for WR-hunting.

XSTC, Season 2

November 19, 2007

I’m running out of time to post something bigger today, so a few quick notes:

  • The Extreme Mini Track Contest, now known as the Xtreme Short Track Contest, has started its second round today. The first round is still in the judging phase, but hopefully results will be out before the tracks in the second round are to be judged.
  • I know I’ve fallen behind on updating the forum contests lately, but I hope to have this fixed in a day or two. Just be patient with me.
  • The TMU Blog’s birthday is coming up this week (22nd of November). I’m preparing a few extra treats to celebrate this 😉
  • The TMU Blog, the EMTC and the XSTC website are all linked to from the main menu in-game, thanks to RicardoRix. Thanks to that, the second round of the contest could become quite popular 😀
  • It’s cold outside.

What do you do for the TM community? (Contest)

November 18, 2007

I know you’re not blind.

If you look carefully to the right of the screen, in the sidebar, you’ll notice a text box with a little minicontest. I’m 99% sure you’ve seen it before. But I’m also 99% sure that YOU haven’t participated yet. So I thought spelling it out for you would give you a kick start:

  1. In 20 words or less, summarize how you contribute to the TM community. It doesn’t even have to be completely true…
  2. Send your submission via the “Contact” page.

Also, try to be funny, ironic and/or clever in some way.

I know it isn’t that easy to be creative enough to make this one perfect, but even not-so-perfect submissions are welcome. Just write something!

The prize? 1000 coppers. The deadline? There isn’t any. Results are to be posted when the time is right 😉
