In the Spotlight – Lord M’zn

Last week Lord M’zn won the TMU Lottery. The prize: A day in the spotlight!

Some of you might know that Lord M’zn runs a blog inspired by the TMU Blog for the Italian TM community. Lord M’zn’s is the admin of an Italian team – Perceptra team – which is also where he runs his blog. Check it out here!

Besides the blog, which takes up a lot of time (trust me, I know), Lord M’zn is also active in various tournaments, either on his own or with a team. Examples include ESL and UL1, the latter which he participates in together with a team called Maniacs Brothers.

When it comes to TrackMania as a whole, for Lord M’zn it all started with an Italian game magazine where he read an article about TrackMania Original. This lead to him testing the demo, and soon after he bought the full game. “It was love,” says Lord M’zn. “I was astonished by the editor, it was simply awesome!”

Lord M’zn bought a copy of Sunrise as soon as it was released in Italy, and in March 2006 he downloaded Nations. Today Lord M’zn plays both Nations and United, and in United he’s even first in the Italian Platform ladder, and in the top 10 in the Bay and Coast equivalents. Still, Lord M’zn also say he hates the United platform mode, becuase you can download replays.

On the private level in real life, Lord M’zn is an 18 year old guy living near Milan, Italy, with his family. Currently he is studying for his exams, preparing to go to a University to (probably) study molecular biolgy. In his free time Lord M’zn likes to, besides play TrackMania, hang out at discos and pubs along with his friends. He also likes to read books.

Additionally, Lord M’zn takes part in a lot of political demonstrations. While he doesn’t support any specific political party, he is still very interested in politics.

When being asked the question “If you could choose one thing, what would you like the TM community to remember you by?” Lord M’zn answers: “My track-making style. I’m proud (too proud maybe) of my style, but most of my productions haven’t been published yet because I have no time for adding MT stuff.”

  8. alcator says:

Italian politics is in deep trouble due to Mr. Berlusconi, who owns majority of masmedia and is the prime minister; this allows him to influence the public in his favor. Many very dangerous (abusable) laws got passed (accepted) and Italy will have a lot of trouble to get rid off of them.

*sigh* Why can’t they just leave us be…?

  9. Jozii says:

I have the feling you’re thinking of something more specific, Alcator?

  10. alcator says:

Jozii: It was a generic sigh about the tendency of politicians to stick their noses into our lives, to control them, observe them, make statistics, records, analysises etc. While in theory, they should be our employees and they should do what we want them to, in reality they think of US as their employees and they like to tell US what we should do.

  11. Jozii says:

Well, I’m not even going to try to understand politics 😛 But I do know that all those observations, statistics, records and analysises do at least some good, not only to the politicians, but to all of us.

  12. LordMzn says:

for italian politics, it isn’t good at all ç_ç
@ Alcator: You’re talking about Berlusconi, but the real problem is that Prodi and his men are not so different. While Berlusconi think at himself, Prodi&co think at themselves and a little part of Italians. The great problem is that politics doesn’t care or solve the real problem of the people.
