RoaDrunneR seems quite easy, yet challenging for skilled players. Looks like a good track suitable for online play.
The smoothness in RoaDrunneR is surprisingly good for a desert track, as a lot of desert tracks appears quite “bumpy” (that’s the nature of the desert environment). The jumps are not calculated in extreme detail, but they have a nice feel as most of them go over obstacles which are easy to pass, but still add to the experience.
The track is quite easy unless you are totally new to racing games, but it’s still challenging enough for even the most skilled players. There are plenty of ways to cut your time, but they are hard to execute.
Further more, RoaDrunneR has a fair amount of variety, and the length is just perfect for the track. As predicted under “First Impression”, this track sure is suitable for online play! Rating: 4.5
The scenery offers enough variety to keep the track interesting. In fact, I don’t have any complaints at all about the scenery except that the desert scenery is quite boring. However, as I am supposed to judge the track, not the environment, this has to be a full score! Rating: 5.0
There isn’t anything original about this track other than its short but sweet brilliance! And only for that, a little plus for the rating. Rating: 4.0
The intro is very simple, but it does what an intro should do: introduce the track! There are no fancy special effects, but none are needed. More of this, people!
The outro is very good too. It’s probably the most advanced MT work in the track, and it kind of ruins the lovely simpleness of the track, but then again, in comparance to many other tracks, the outro too is not to advanced.
In-game: Cam changes in a loop. Nothing more needed there. Rating: 4.0
RoaDrunneR has many strengths: it’s simple style, the cool jumps and parts of the track, and above all the suited scenery. Varied, perfect length, and suitable for online. It looks and feels sweet, but when you really try to get a good time, it can snatch at you without warning!
Simply a wonderful track!
Final Rating: 4.5 (very good)
