Nice scenery! It looks good, but is it as fun to drive?
At first The Crack seemed to me like a very bumpy and quite poorly made track, but I know now it wasn’t because of the track, but because of my own poor driving. There are a few well-calculated jumps that requires the right speed to complete with success. If you know you’re not that good a driver, don’t turn away, though. While the jumps are quite tough to beat successfully, they can be completed even at the lowest speed.
As for smoothness, The Crack works very well. You’ll probably have to practice the track a few times, but once you get it right, the track feels just great!
Smooth, technical and fast. According to this article, that’s exactly what a good track needs! Also a nice mix of dirt and asphalt racing, complete with a loop, platform areas, and a nice little PF section in the middle of the track. A minus for a few slightly too difficult sections, tough. Rating: 4.0
As said before, the scenery is very appealing in this track. Very suitable for a Stadium track. Not too much, not too little, and it looks unique and a bit different (which is good). Rating: 4.5
Well-tested ideas always work fine. The Crack doesn’t bring much new. It rather re-uses old stuff with a new twist to it, which indeed is very good, but doesn’t add much to the original score. Therefore, and average rating. Rating: 3.0
Good intro, in-game effects where needed (and even a not required but still useful “arrow” to hint the direction at one point), and a decent outro. Nothing over the edge, tough. Rating: 3.5
Extremely nice custom music – for a bedtime lullaby! Not the ideal choice for a fast Stadium track. A very good author time, though.
A very good and smooth track once you get it right – it can be a bit tricky at first, and you’ll have to learn the track before you can drive it even decently. Beautiful scenery, good MT work and an overall suitable challenge. Extra plus for a nice author time, but a small minus for a poor choice of custom music.
Final Rating: 4.0 (good)
