As you may have noticed, the TMX Track List, which used to be posted every second Wednesday, has not been around for some time now. This is due to the fact that those lists take a lot of time to write, and with a lot of other stuff going on last month, there simply wasn’t enough time left for the track lists.
And there’s no way around it: Those lists still require a lot of work, even if I personally have a lot more time on my hands now to actually do something about them. But I’ll be honest: THEY ARE BORING (to write, that is - a lot of editing to do and minor detailed information to add)! Besides, I actually don’t think they are or have ever been that useful to anyone. Sure, it was fun comparing track ratings to each other, and those actually on the list got themselves and ego-boost, but in the long run, is the work it takes to create each list worth the effort?
The future of the TMX Track list lie on your skinny shoulders. If you really enjoyed these lists and would like to see them continue, of course they can be “brought back to life”. But if it really doesn’t matter much, they can just as well be left alone forever.
So, you can express your opinions about whether the TMX Track List should return to its bi-weekly position here at the blog or not. Also, take a few seconds to make a simple “yes or no” vote on the topic by clicking here
Have a nice evening
Sorry for the double post today. Don’t forget to check out this weeks screenshots in the post below, if you haven’t already

As pointed out when the previous TMX Track List was posted, only having ratings for the tracks on the list isn’t enough. Previously, nothing concrete was said about the tracks listed, and just a number doesn’t say anything about what style the track is. Therefore, text has now been added for each track on this weeks list - and this will of course be the standard from now on
This week we also have five players listed for the very first time: Sivert, JakeOIL, Andree, Aaerox and Heah. These have done a great job and have received really good ratings. Among all tracks reviewed in this weeks TMX Track List, two were even so highly rated they earned a spot in the top 5 at our Tracks Page!
And speaking of the Tracks Page: With the 10 tracks reviewed in this post, we now have more than 100 reviews (101 to be exact - not including Blog Tracks, tracks used for article purposes or tracks that have only been advertised, not reviewed). That means that one of the tracks on this list - the second last one to be reviewed - is our 100th reviewed track! The lucky author of that track therefore wins 1000 coppers

This week, unlike last time, I’m really happy with the overall track quality. We’ve got some really innovative and challenging tracks this week, and two tracks have even scored a 9.0, which is really good!
There are also two newcomers on the list - Djoszee and Gadget - and both have scored quite well. To top it all, MrA, who received a new personal high score of 7.0 two weeks ago, has once again broken his old record. This week he has received an amazing 8.0 for his Bay track (with better MT that 8.0 would have been an 8.5). Way to go MrA

I must say I’m a bit disappointed with this weeks Track List. Tonic_91 & JuneRaT’s collaboration work (Save Your Breath) is a creative piece of work, and Markus’s “The Wild Hunt” isn’t too bad either, but after those two it just goes down. The sad thing is that all (well, most anyway) of the track are really good base structures, but there doesn’t seem to be much of ambition or innovation in the tracks. And considering the quality of some of these authors other tracks, we all know they can do better.
Oh, and is it just me, or do you too find it weird that seven out of the nine tracks in this post are approximately 45 seconds long? I’m telling you man, it’s all those commersials and advertisements. They’re messing with our minds!
Anyway, here’s the 5th TMX Track List…

My apologies for the one week delay of the third update to the TMX Track List. So without any further delay, here are the new tracks…

The TMX Track List is returning with a second edition and an update to the list
More people have signed up since last time (two weeks ago), and therefore the list is becoming longer.
Thus a new rule has been added, saying that the list will always show a maximum of 10 tracks in each edition (this time, however, that doesn’t matter, as many players didn’t have any new tracks to be listed). Newcomers to the list will have a higher priority to be listed than those who have already been listed at least once, and those who have been listed before will take turns to be on the list.
But unless you have signed up for the list, this is not that important, so let’s just get right to it…

The TMX Track List that was announced last week started a few discussions (both private and public) about the list not featuring underrated tracks, just tracks in general. But the point of the list is for any author, famous or not, good or bad, to have their tracks listed and “advertised”, and for others to find nice tracks to play. If an underrated track slips through, that’s great. But it’s not something that is necessary to make this feature good and useful.
But here at the TMU Blog feedback is taken seriously, and therefore a new add to the TMX Track List concept has been added: Each underrated track is “tagged” as one, meaning it will say *Underrated* next to it’s name. The same will go for tracks suitable for online play, challenging tracks, etc. (suggestions for “tags” are welcome).
Additionally, in order to keep this list from being an unsorted random list of tracks, some basic information is given about each track (environment, length, etc.). Also, despite some arguments against this, the rating system is still included (each track receives a rating), but if this is not appreciated, it will be removed in the future.
Comments, feedback, complaints, ideas, suggestions, etc. are very much welcome. Just comment the post or e-mail Jozii@pp.inet.fi.

Are you registered at the United Exchange? Would you like your latest uploaded track to be listed here at the TMU Blog?
We now offer a new feature called the “TMX Track List“. On a regular basis, everyone who takes part in this will have their latest most awarded track (at TMX) listed here at the blog. Note that this only includes tracks uploaded after the previous TMX Track List post. If you have not uploaded any new tracks since then, no track will be included on the list (until next time).
The cost is 300 coppers, which you only have to pay once. After that, your latest most awarded track will be included every time a new list is posted.
Additionally, each track listed will be given a rating by the TMU Blog.
So, here’s a summary:
- The TMX Track List is updated on a regular basis.
- By participating, you get your latest most awarded track listed here on the blog.
- Your track will be rated on a scale from 1 to 10. The rating will be displayed next to the track name.
- A track can not be listed twice, so if you haven’t uploaded a new track since the last time the list was updated, you will not have any track listed in new posts (until you have uploaded a new track).
- The cost to have tracks listed this way is 300 coppers. You only have to pay these once - after that, you will always have a new track listed (unless you don’t upload a new one) without having to pay more.
So if you’d like your tracks to be listed like this in the future, simply send 300 coppers in-game to “Jozii”. The rest will be done for you
What’s your opinion on this new feature? Speak your mind by commenting this post, drop an e-mail to Jozii@pp.inet.com, or PM “Jozii” in-game. Your opinion will be used to help improve future content in the blog.
