Five Into One Contest - Results!

July 4, 2007

A while ago a Five Into One contest was started here at the blog. Submissions were sent in, but due to the after-work (MT, screenshot, etc.), the actual track hasn’t been completed until now. Additionally, the results have been displayed at the TMU Blog Forum earlier, but nothing has been said here until now (I wanted to wait until the track was ready for release).

In case you’ve missed it or forgotten, this contest was a sort of community project. The difference from a normal community track was that everyone built at the same time, on a limited area. No one knew whether their part would be placed first, last or in the middle of the track.

Blog Track #7, server info and a (desperate) cry for help!

April 1, 2007

First off, the TMU Blog Server should be back to normal after the TMX Monthly Track Contest. This means that it’s no longer password protected. Additionally, some new tracks have been added to the server ;)

  • Name: TMU Blog Server
  • Zone: Netherlands

I’ve said before that I’ve been planning a contest on the server, but this might have to be delayed due to private life taking up too much time (I expect this to be over within two weeks). In fact, I could currently needed a bit of help with the posting in the blog. To be specific, I could need some help with writing track reviews. If you’re interested, e-mail Jozii@pp.inet.fi and I’ll reply with the name of a track and a deadline for when the review needs to be done  :D

Second, today the 7th Blog Track has been released, this time being a track made by the famous Andree in the Desert environment. If you also count community tracks started by the TMU Blog, all seven environments have now officially been covered by the TMU Blog :D Check the “Tracks” page for a list of all the previous BT’s ;)

Anyway, this new track is a blast! It’s fast with a technical touch and should be excellent for online play or WR hunts. It has some nice transitions and innovative sections, and jumps are smooth and exciting. So go ahead, test this track now!

Oh, and one last thing: To boost the activity on the server, let’s all meet there tomorrow evening at 6:00 GMT :D

Enjoy the track, and hopefully I’ll see you on the server tomorrow evening ;)

BT Bay #6 - Buchi

March 19, 2007

The 6th standard Blog Track, and the 8th Blog Track in total, is finally here :D

This time the author is Buchi, someone who is famous for his brilliant Bay tracks. Here he has managed to put together an awesome track, featuring loads of fun!

Now, I could go on about how great this track is, but this is something you’ll have to experience for yourself. My words can’t describe to you what you’ll get by driving the track!

So what are you waiting for? Download the track!

And don’t forget: If you liked it, award it (at TMX)!

Have fun :D

Blog Community Track #2

February 27, 2007
Reminder: Don’t forget our TMU Raffle! The deadline has been extended by two days, so the new deadline is now on Wednesday the 28th. Results will be posted on Thursday (the 1st of March).

It’s been quite some time since the creation of the second TMU Blog Community Track began, but now, after a long time of hard work, the track is finally here!

BT Com #2 - The Island Express is, as the name so graciously suggests, set in the Island environment. The track it self is simple yet extremely fun to play. The simple design makes for a nice driving experience and is good with the eye.

While the track isn’t exactly the most difficult track around, it do offer quite some challenging parts when it comes to making good times. There are many places where time could be saved in a great fashion, and as the track isn’t hard to complete at lower speeds, plus has a more simple design, it should be excellent for online play and general WR hunts (so don’t forget to submit your times at TMX).

TMU Blog Track #5

January 18, 2007

OK, the 5th TMU Blog Track is finally here, after the previously released Blog Community Track. This time the BT, named Coastal Madness (with good reason), has been made by Alcator.

Coastal Madness is a (mad) track set in the Coast environment (obviously). It features an extremely cool PF start, several tricky jumps, twists and turns, and magnificent MT work. In order to complete the track with a good time, you’ll have to take advantage of the environment, and choose the best paths, as this is a multi-path track.

Additionally, Alcator is making a video for this track. For this he need tons of replays, which you are all ecouraged to send to him. More info on this video and where to send your replays can be found at the author comments for the track.

And please, if you like this track (which I have no doubt you will), award it at the United Exchange.

Have a mad day ;)

Blog Community Track - Deceiving Straights

January 13, 2007

It’s been a while since the last Blog Track was published, but now we’re finally back on track. Plus, we’ve taking the BT concept to a new level with the very first TMU Blog Community Track:

BT Com #1 - Deceiving Straights

Deceiving Straights is a great combination of a fast and technical track, with excellent parts created by some of the best authors at the United Exchange. PF start, cool jumps, a loop, platforms, a short dirt part, technical turns and deceiving straights all do their thing to make this track so good - this is something you just have to check out!

Additionally, here’s a video for the track, created by Scala: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-3476598087191444091&q=deceiving+straights

Many thanks to all who helped make this very first TMU Blog Community Track! In alphabetical order, here are the authors:

  • Alcator
  • FoZ
  • Jozii
  • KOFS Diesel
  • LaZyMaN
  • MikoZ
  • Scala
  • Zippage

Enjoy the track! :D

Blog Track #4 + Updates

December 12, 2006

After a little “break”, a fourth Blog Track has been released :D This time the author is our very own Jonkster. The track is a fast Alpine track that should take you on an interesting drive through the winter landscape.

BT Alpine #4 - Jonkster

Enjoy this track, and to thank Jonkster for his work, don’t forget to award it at TMX :D

Today you’ll also notice a few changes on the blog. It has had a make-over, and the new skin, which I’m quite sure you all have noticed, is more simple and neutral compared to the previous one. The banner on top has been made by Hawk. Big thanks, Hawk :D

Also, if you check to the right, further down the page, you’ll see a so called “SongSpot”. To be honest, this has absolutely nothing to do with this blog or TMU in general, but it adds a bit of variety to the blog. The current song is just a temporary one. In fact, if you go visit Sonific.com, find a suitable song for a game like TMU, and refer us to it (just make a comment for this post or send a link to Jozii@pp.inet.fi), it might be chosen to be played here at the blog :D

It would be really cool to hear your comments on the new changes that’s been made. How do you like the new skin? Is it better/worse than the old one? And what about the banner? And the SongSpot, is it a nice touch or should it just be removed again?

Enjoy the SongSpot and the new blog design :D

TMU Blog Tracks - 1-3

December 3, 2006

Last week a new track series called ”Blog Tracks” was started, and the two first tracks were released. These were quite bad tracks made by myself (Jozii), so therefore it was decided that the whole blog track concept was to be changed. Now, each blog track is made specifically for the blog by famous authors. The two old blog tracks have already been re-made by JumperJack and Smok3y (both at TMX):

BT Stadium #1 - JumperJack (Direct Download)

BT Rally #2 - Smok3y (Direct Download)

Also, a third track has been made by myself (yes, it is a lot better than the two old ones) set in the Stadium environment:

BT Stadium #3 - Jozii (Direct Download)

I hope you like these tracks, and don’t forget to award and thank JumperJack and Smok3y for their work :D

TMU Blog Tracks

November 25, 2006

As a new add to the blog, we now introduce to you TMU Blog Tracks. These tracks are of various style, length and environment, but they have one thing in common: They are created especially for this blog!

TMU Blog Tracks are created on a regular basis. The purpose of the tracks is to advertise the blog, but the tracks may also be used for future challenges and contests started here at the blog.

To enhance the announcement of TMU Blog Tracks, a track has already been created:

BT Stadium #1 - Jumper Jack

Enjoy the track, and expect more to come in the near future.

If you’d like to create a TMU Blog Track, please send an e-mail to Jozii@pp.inet.fi.
