First Impression

Underrated full-speed Stadium action!

Track Design

Fast and exciting! The track starts out with a cool PF start, followed by real Stadium action. There are loops, a wallride, a corkscrew and plenty of interesting jumps. Platforms are also included. However, at many places transitions are unsmooth and looks poorly made, which is a major downside for this track.

Another downside is that the design fails to appeal throughout the entire track. Some sections seem too long and uninteresting. Additionally, a reversed booster has been used, something which makes the design look even worse.

But then again, between these annoying little flaws, a great and speedy track is hidden. A great base design, but which needs a lot of finetuning to become better. I’m extra kind today though, so to highlight the fact that this is an underrated track, I’ll give the design an 8.0 (otherwise it would have been a 7.0-7.5) ;)

Rating: 8.0

Scenery

Just as the design, the scenery gives a varied impression. At times it looks just perfect, with an interesting and unique sense of detail, but at other times (the majority, unfortunately), it looks straight out horrible. There are plenty of “boring” sections which could (and should) have been spiced up a bit more.

Rating: 7.5

Media Tracker

Intro: Nice story introduction where YOU race to become the world champion. Doesn’t show the track at all though :(

In-Game: Cool PF start with custom camera angles, and a decent GPS. Cam changes where needed.

Outro: Brings a nice end to the story introduced in the intro, but it has one major flaw: It doesn’t show the actual race at all! Can you hear the ratings drop?

Overall, the MT work isn’t at all bad. It’s colorful, interesting and looks good. It has its flaws, but it’s still worth a good rating. However, due to the fact that the MT work doesn’t do it’s job (introduce the track in the intro, show the race in the outro), I’m forced to give a bad score. A pity, but hopefully a lesson has been learned.

Rating: 4.0

Originality

Original? No. The story adds a bit though, but not much…

Rating: 2.5

Fun Factor

Fun? At times. It’s a great challenge, and full speed is always fun. Unfortunately, the many obvious flaws and minor details that are sure to annoy you ruins a lot.

Rating: 6.5

Summary

A good base design but with a lot of flaws. The track gives an overall poor impression, but isn’t really that bad after all. The MT work is used in a bit different way, focusing more on the story which is included with the track than the track it self. A lot of mixed feelings. But is it underrated (at TMX) as I said in the “First Impression” section? Yes, a bit (it doesn’t have a single award at the time of writing).

Final Rating: 6.5 (decent)
