The TMX Track List that was announced last week started a few discussions (both private and public) about the list not featuring underrated tracks, just tracks in general. But the point of the list is for any author, famous or not, good or bad, to have their tracks listed and “advertised”, and for others to find nice tracks to play. If an underrated track slips through, that’s great. But it’s not something that is necessary to make this feature good and useful.
But here at the TMU Blog feedback is taken seriously, and therefore a new add to the TMX Track List concept has been added: Each underrated track is “tagged” as one, meaning it will say *Underrated* next to it’s name. The same will go for tracks suitable for online play, challenging tracks, etc. (suggestions for “tags” are welcome).
Additionally, in order to keep this list from being an unsorted random list of tracks, some basic information is given about each track (environment, length, etc.). Also, despite some arguments against this, the rating system is still included (each track receives a rating), but if this is not appreciated, it will be removed in the future.
Comments, feedback, complaints, ideas, suggestions, etc. are very much welcome. Just comment the post or e-mail Jozii@pp.inet.fi.

well, my last track i’ve uploaded was over a month ago, is that the reason that i’m not featured in the list?!
Correct
And for the next list (posted in two weeks), only tracks uploaded after this first list can be included.
well, then i hope that i’ve finished my newest creation in two weeks…
Better take the time and make sure it’s good, right?
right, but the largest part of the track is already done, if i had no school or exams, i would have finished it already
Alcator’s coaSTunts is 1:25 long, not 1:30
and only 8 out of 10???
Suggestion of tags:
STUNT – it’s a stunt track
PFSTART – has a worthy PF start (that means at least one salto or flip or similar crazy stuff, not just some straight row of boosters)
INNOVATIVE – contains rare or very innovative stuff that most players have not yet seen.
What about PF for a PF track?
Alcator: it said 1:30 at TMX, and as this is called the “TMX Track List”, I decided to use what it says there, to save myself a great deal of work
About the tag suggestions:
I considered “STUNT” as well, but I realized it doesn’t really fir the tag purpose. The tags don’t determine what kind of track it is, but gives hints to what you’ll get if you try the track. For example, “Online” doesn’t mean the track must be played online, but it hints that the track is suitable for online play. “Stunt” would not imply that the track can be a good stunt track, when in fact the tracks IS a stunt track. The difference is small, but still it’s there.
A better idea would be to just include the track type in the list…
PDSTART (or PF, as Heah suggested) could be useful. But again, it doesn’t completely match the purpose of the tags. I might add it, but we’ll see…
INNOVATIVE, on the other hand, is a brilliant suggestion. Sure to be used in the future
[...] Also included are the environment of each track as well as “tags”. If you read the first TMX Track List, you know what tags are. For the new page, however, the tags are represented graphically. The tags [...]
